VasoCARE, LLC, founded over 15 years ago, specializes in marketing intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) devices for the prevention of hospital acquired DVT.

Legacy ® IPC offers hospitals a wearable 5-ounce device that operates in total silence with an integrated sleeve system that promotes mobility. With the Legacy ® IPC, nurses no longer waste their time disconnecting, removing, and reapplying SCD sleeves during bed transfers. Nurses can now engage their patients in taking measured walks. Legacy ® IPC is the only system that monitors and records steps, cadence, and overall patient activity. Studies show every step activates the calf muscle pump function which further helps prevent HA-DVT.

In addition, the Legacy ® IPC is the only DVT Prevention Device System that scans the performance of the device every 30 seconds. If a device performance or patient compliance issue is identified, the Legacy App immediately changes the color of the patient tile from green to red on the screen of the Legacy Monitoring App Station (iPad). DVTs can develop in as little as 5 minutes. Legacy’s 30-second program prevents HA- DVT.

Legacy ® IPC promotes patient compliance above 85%, which effectively prevents 75% of HA-DVT and reduces the rate to 1.3%. Whereas compliance with SCDs is 19-47%, which increases the rate of DVT to 4.3%. Studies show when compliance is 85% or higher, there is no evidence of thromboembolic complications.

VasoCARE supports seamless integration into hospital workflows and extends DVT prevention therapy into the home setting. Over 50% of DVTs develop after discharge since hospitals do not provide patients with SCD units. Legacy ® IPC supports an At- Home DVT Prevention program. Upon an early discharge, patients leave the hospital wearing the Legacy ® IPC until they are fully active, which can extend to 30 days.
